Locals plant 147 trees on their greens!

3 fruit trees, and 3 native wildlife hedgerows were planted

10 local people and staff from the Really Wild Lockleaze Project, Avon Wildlife Trust, and One Tree Per Child got together on Saturday to plant trees on three greens across Lockleaze.

We started on Thornycroft Close, planting two hedgerows, which will provide lots of food for pollinators, as well as cover for hedgehogs which have been spotted on the close.

We then went to Landseer Avenue, which saw local resident Hannah plant a pear tree. Finally the team headed to Stanfield Close, where we were joined by several residents from the Close, and planted another hedgerow, an apple tree, and a plum tree.

Check them all out if you are passing, and get in touch if you want to do similar things on your greens or verges in Lockleaze!
