Clearing brambles to plant trees!

Bristol Bear’s Hitz Programme students help clear scrub for tree planting at Lockleaze Sports Centre

Last week, and just before Christmas, students from the Bristol Bears Hitz project joined us at Lockleaze Sports Centre Project to help clear extensively brambled areas, where, together we plan to plant a lot of trees in the next few months.  It’s part of a project which Really Wild Lockleaze are doing in conjunction with the Lockleaze Green Gym and the Hitz Project, to create new wooded areas, and also wetland wildflower areas, around their drainage ditches behind the all-weather-pitches. You can walk past and see what we are doing.

So we have nearly done the hard bit, and from Feb, you will be able to join us planting trees and wildflowers every Thursday (mostly 11-3pm) until the end of March. Get in touch if you want to be part of this exciting project!
