Community-Led Housing Update June 2025

17 June 2025

Dear Neighbours,

Community-Led Housing Update June 2025

We wanted to give you a quick update on the Community-Led Housing that’s going to be built on Constable Road, on the two plots on either side of the entrance to Turner Gardens. Houses very close to the development have already had this letter hand-delivered.

The community in Lockleaze had long asked for more 1 and 2 bed housing/ flats to be built – and so over the last seven years Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT) have been working with you, the community around Constable Rd, to design new community-led small houses and flats. You can read more about this process here.

The new housing will be 100% social rent housing, and 50% of that new housing will be available to Lockleaze residents under the Lockleaze Local Lettings Policy, which allows local residents to access this housing more readily.

We also wanted to let you know that this week, on Thursday 19th June, there will be a small amount of building work done on the corner of Constable Road, in order to reach the planning conditions for Bristol City Council. The work should only take one morning.

The actual construction work will start in Spring 2026, and LNT will keep on letting you know what is happening when. This housing has been designed with our Lockleaze community for our community, and we hope that it’s going to make Lockleaze an even better place to live.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact melissa@lockleazent.co.uk or ring 0117 914 1129 to arrange a chat.

Best wishes,

The LNT Team
