Lending a Hand in Lockleaze

Last week we were delighted to welcome a team of corporate volunteers from Legal & General to Lockleaze.

12 got out and about doing a community litter pick for 4 hours collecting as much litter as they could across Lockleaze.

They said it was “Great to be outdoors clocking up the steps.” and “It was good to see parts of Lockleaze and hear about Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust”.

Another 3 volunteers spent the morning with us at Buzz Community Garden helping to banish the bindweed and keep on top of the path clearance.

They said “I was surprised at how much I learnt about plants and permaculture” and “Its such a peaceful outdoor space and I cant believe what a difference we made in one morning”.

Welcoming corporate volunteers from our partners and contacts is just one of the ways we bring added benefits to our community to help make a difference in Lockleaze.

If you’d like to make a difference, you can borrow litterpickers, bags and hoops from the Hub any time. You can visit Buzz Community Garden behind North Bristol Advice Centre whenever you like. You can also join a garden landscaping course running every Thursday 1:30 to 4pm: contact maria@lockleazent.co.uk or colin.young@bristol.gov.uk
