Concorde Way update - sign the petition

The Concorde Way is an important active travel commuter and leisure route in North Bristol connecting the City Centre and Filton. Two traffic-free sections of the path at Lockleaze & Ashley Down are currently closed requiring path users to follow on-road diversions. We want to see both of these sections reopened this summer.

Today (4th April 2024) marks the 3rd anniversary of the closure of the Concorde Way at Lockleaze. Working with Bristol Cycling we’ve been pursuing the developer (Legal & General Modular Homes) for some time find out when it will be reopened, and just recently they’ve stated this won't be until August 2025.

We believe it could be earlier and after 3 years of closure - we think it should reopen this July, when the current council closure notice (known as a TTRO) expires at the very latest.
Working with other organisations affected, we have sent an open letter to the CEO at L&G calling for urgent action. This has attracted significant media coverage.

You can read more about this via our blog post.

A public petition has been launched today. Please sign it and invite others to sign it to increase the pressure on L&G to safely & quickly reopen the path.
