March Walk Report: Stoke Park Sculpture Trail

March Wellbeing Walk Report- exploring Stoke Park Sculpture Trail

After a very wet early morning it was wonderful to get out into the fresh (dry) air of Stoke and start to see how we could relax - noticing our pace, how walking on the grass and looking at all the lush greenery made us feel.

We headed towards the woods and started to find the sculptures, often hidden just off the path and learnt about why there were trees being cut down due to Ash dieback and what this might look like in the months to come, when other trees and plants had more light.

Some of us had never been in the woods or weren't sure how to get through them and it was great to learn where the paths go.

We returned to the Hub and the Hubbub Cafe for a cuppa and to chat some more with other walkers. For some of us it's quite scary walking alone so it was a great opportunity to make new friends to walk with, even when there aren't guided walks available.

"Very welcoming, very informative, most enjoyable walk."

"(The woods) are much bigger than I thought!"

Check out some of the sculptures we saw!

Remember to join our next walk on Wednesday 7th May. This walk is women only, focusing on women’s wellbeing: https://fb.me/e/5r7HG5t2v. Our next walk for everyone will be on the 4th June exploring the Field Stories sculpture trail.
