Love where you live - wellbeing walk

Four local residents enjoyed a short walk and a tour on 19th March to find out more about a very interesting neighbourhood wildlife project.  Lots of new trees have been planted and wildflowers are starting to come into flower. We had a tour from Eleanor, Project Manager for Really Wild Lockleaze about urban rewilding - or making more space for nature in our cities and the great work they are doing - Thank you for leading a fascinating tour!.

We also found out a bit about the interesting history of Lockleaze Sports Centre.  When I asked the walkers what they got out of today's walk, here's what they had to say: " A very interesting walk and tour on projects in the area to help wildlife", "Very Good" and "We also heard and saw lots of birds".

If you would like to lend a hand in the tree planting and making wetland habitat at Lockleaze Sports Centre they will be meeting this Thursday 21st March or 28th March anytime between 11am- 3pm to mulch trees and plant wildflowers.  Please bring wellies. For more information and to book your free space, please contact Eleanor, email: reallywild@lockleazent.co.uk

Join us for our next guided walk on Tuesday 26th March.  We will meet at the Hub at 10am and we will walk to St Werburgh's city farm to see some of the animals. Approx 4 mile walk but could get the bus back to the Hub. Please bring a bit of money for a cup of tea and or bus fare if required.
