'Home-Made Lockleaze - Community Workshop 1' 16 Feb 2022

A big thanks to those who managed to make the event on a very stormy, mid-february evening. This was the first of a number of events to talk about the future of the site, present some initial ideas and introduce the wider project team from Ecomotive and SNUG Homes.

The purpose of these events is to hear what is important to you and to share progress on development designs and delivery plans.

We had some great conversations, particularly with residents living close to the site who shared some of their concerns around overlooking, site boundaries and asbestos removal. We want to further understand all concerns and incorporate these into our proposal for up to 5 affordable, much needed 1 to 2-bed community owned homes on the derelict site.

If you weren’t able to make the event, no problem, you can still join in the conversation and we would love to hear from you!:

  • Take a look at the boards the development values / principles referred to by scrolling to the bottom of this blog post

  • Complete the first community engagement survey here - fill in this short survey to let us know what you think, how you'd like to stay informed or get involved, and which development principles/values you would like LNT to prioritise

  • A copy of the slideshow presentation shared at the event and a  recording of the Community Engagement event will be available on LNT’s website soon!

The Turner Gardens site presents a lot of opportunity for creativity and community benefit. To help get the ball rolling, all you need to do is show up and share your thoughts with us!

Please complete the survey here. We look forward to hearing from and seeing you again at the next event - SAVE THE DATE: 17 MARCH, 6.30pm - 8pm. Venue - The Hub, Gainsborough Square. We will be showing how the scheme can deliver amazing community benefits whilst responding to concerns raised in the first event. We will also be looking for ideas around public vs private spaces and asking people what the priorities should be for our open and shared spaces!
