Fun in the sunshine

#ActiveLockleaze is the partnership project between Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust and WESPORT - the aim: to help all Lockleaze residents be more active.

As part of that project we run pop-up events on the square during school holidays to provide fun free family and community time together and encourage people to be more active. Almost 200 residents of all ages joined us for our free #ActiveLockleaze April pop up event recently - the rain finally stopped, and we really did have fun in the sun!

We had 16 of our amazing community partners delivering something for everyone - play, sports, dance, cycling, health, wellbeing, nature, travel, safety and more.

From frisbees to football, hula hoops to hockey, health chats and how to relax - the Square was a hive of fun and activity.

4 Bikes had maintenance checks and we were delighted that over 99.5 % of you walked or cycled to the event.

A special mention for our 2 amazing volunteer conversation collectors Natalia and Dylan, and a massive thank you to everyone who came out to get more active, try new things, connect, learn and make the most of your neighbourhood.

We spoke to almost everyone and had 100% positive feedback!

“Free and right on our doorstep! Thank you!”
