Lockleaze Community-led housing drop in

If you’re interested in community-led housing, what it is and how it can work locally, this is a great opportunity to learn and discuss updates to the CLH project: Lockleaze Loves Homes. Alex from Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust will host the session which has a self-build theme. We want to hear from you. Good designs not Grand Designs: Jackson from Ecomotive will talk about the SNUG home idea and how you might build your own in Lockleaze in the coming years, even if you’ve never considered building your own home. You can talk to Jackson about self-build options and bring him your questions.

LOCKLEAZE HOUSING FESTIVAL

  • Gainsborough Square Bristol, England, BS7 United Kingdom (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Celebrate what makes homes and places great! Saturday October 26th, 12pm to 5pm.

Lockleaze will open its doors to host lots of activities for kids and adults, bringing people together to discuss the future of Lockleaze, exploring the plans and possibilities for the area.

On The Day:

  • The Cameron Centre will be transformed into pop-up cafe serving teas, coffees and delicious food.

  • Come to Gainsborough Square and enjoy Curio, a free public art light installation telling local stories (3pm - 8pm)

  • Kids are welcome! They have the best imaginations, so we’ll be running a drawing competition and ‘build a house’ activity down in the Kids Corner.

  • Be inspired by self-build ideas and examples of how housing needs can be met in innovative ways down at The Wordsworth Centre.

  • Tell us what YOU think make great homes and places, and what community spaces are needed in Lockleaze with plenty of engagement activities and chances to give your view.

  • Learn all about Community-led Housing and the fantastic opportunities we have in Lockleaze! Explore how this can support those in housing need and future generations.

  • We will host a free walking tour from, starting at the Cameron Centre at 2pm, ending at the Wordworth Centre. This will be a great chance to bring conversations to life, seeing opportunities with your own eyes.

  • We have invited Bristol Council and housing associations to present and consult on their development proposals in the area. This is a great opportunity to feed back on site specific proposals and discuss what you like and dislike about existing designs.

We will be championing what makes Lockleaze great but also listening to what the community needs are for the future. For more info, please contact Alex on 0117 914 1129

We hope to see you there and spread the word!
